aqworlds trading system

Page 1 of 5. There's different Gifting and Trading systems being considered for AQ Here's some labels we can use for discussion: Z-Token Item Transfer This is planned for next major Shop update Player can transfer Z-Token items into their account shared vault, and any character aqworlds their account can retrieve the item. As usual, vault is NOT shared with other people's accounts. Gift Buying Buying a Z-Token item and choosing trading character to receive the trading. Gifting Giving away a RARE no longer buyable gold item to another character. Players could agree to Gift each other certain items, doing a trade, but nothing in-game to enforce the trade. Trading Two players agree to trade different RARE items between their characters. The game enforces two-way agreements on what's being traded before trade occurs. Gifting Pool Players give away one RARE system into a magic "pool" each day. The trading day, each player that tossed an item into the pool gets one random item back from the pool. Like 'Yankee Swap', without the stealing. The event would run for a limited time, since eventually everyone would get something they'd keep. Players would need to be at level-cap in order to participate. Guardian chars might need separate pool? We could seed the pool each day with a few RARE items, to keep things interesting! Ok, now the Gifting Pool idea seems a lot more appealing especially if it might be seeded with some rares that the Staff pick. Guardian characters having a separate pool would be nice because a lot of the Frostval giftboxen items are all Guardian only. Otherwise, there's always the upgrade system. I think it's more so a problem for Adventurers who can't access guardian items whereas guardian players can use adventurer items. Also, too bad the other thread got locked because it was also the thread for the rest of this week's events like the Rare item hunt and new system packages. The best one is trading, as everyone pointed out, while gifting pool could be a great addition to it, I love the idea even more since it is possible to provide confirmation. As was pointed out in the other thread, trading is the best system and the most wanted. I don't wanna be a nay-sayer but Gift Buying simply won't be used if it's implemented. No one really wants to give away token items for nothing in return, especially when we consider how very expensive just aqworlds single item is. Honestly I would really like both of them if possible but I really like just normal trading because it could help out everyone to get items they need but are no longer accessible. Trading including myself would love to have certain RARES just for how they look or how they act and could help new players get some nice items if they trade or you might have a lot of nice adventurers that wanna trade and help new ones or just get newer items for themselves or someone else. Can seasonal and GGB items please be made trade-able? It would open up trading for a lot more players, and make it possible for new and returning players to trade. Kalle29 No one really wants to give away token items for nothing in return, especially when we consider how very expensive just a single item is. We're working on a solution to the "very expensive" part. Yesterday was my character's 14th birthday! Seasonals aren't much of a problem, but we do need ggbs to be tradeable Happy birthday Capt I mean your character. Happy 14th Birthday for yesterday Captain. I do have one or two people in AQ that I consider to be enough of a friend to gift token items to. I would also consider giving away items to random players in a "pass it forward" kind of way. Having gifted guardian status to a few players characters in the past. Especially if the Token items do become more reasonably priced. Thanks in advance Captain. Happy belated birthday to your character Captain. Also it seems like I didn't really get any response from what I posted on the previous thread, so I am going to repost the possible disadvantages of the trading system. Well this looks fine on paper but here is the problem. This looks fine but what if person A has a portal painting for items such as past Frostval rares OR a Ballyhoo Shop for a promo item. And if say, 5 people wanted item Y from Person A, and each offered a unique and different item, wouldn't it be total gain for Person A without the loss of anything? System don't know because different people have different opinions but this doesn't really seem right. Trading would probably work fine in a MMObut AQ is a single player RPG game, so implementing such system would be quite difficult. The initial gifting system said by Captain sounds simple, which would probably work fine. If anyone of you has any idea on how this trading should be like, please state. I'm also concerned that just cause something's considered "RARE" doesn't mean that it will never appear in-game again. I suppose we'd have to be hard core about that going forward. I have never liked the term RARE. The real definition of the word doesn't usually mean gone forever. This also proves that RARE items MIGHT return in the form of a reskin or just exactly the same item. Over the past few months we have already seen rare items returning, including packages and items that are similar to rare items, which includes new or reskins. What if a said item does return, and a person traded a limited, rare item for such item, which has returned in a different formhow would they feel? Well that sounds quite simple but is there any idea on how it will be exactly? Because I actually find a trading system to be more complicated than that, so a more detailed outline of it would be nice. In the end, almost nobody is willing to do the initial gifting system, which is why a trading system might be the final product instead of gifting. Random people could just be replaced with acquaintances or even friends, and many STILL wouldn't want to gift, as seen from the previous thread, where gifting only is no where being favoured at all. As I have already said, many wouldn't want to 'gift' or lose might be thought by some anything without gaining anything. That is just how many people are in today's world. Only VERY few if any are generous enough trading actually GIFT their rares without getting anything in return. Many people would just keep to themselves if trading ain't implemented. The workable solution is that only non-buyable RARE tagged items can be traded. Non-Buyable in the sense that there is no way for anyone to buy the aqworlds from a shop anymore. GGB items would not be tradeable, until they are removed from the GGB prize shops, and tagged as RARE. Also what's the problem with permanent GGBs being avaliable? You need to actually use a box for it, not like normal paintings. This may very well be the best thing that could happen to AQ. I show strong support for everything Captain has mentioned in this threads first post. Why make only rare items tradable? All items should be tradable, including the current GGBs. You need to actually use a box for it, not like normal paintings The question that needs to system asked is, Is there a "tag" for other specific classification of items like there is for system Is there a GGB tag? Is there a season GGB tag? If not can they be made? If not then there system the answer, there would be no way to have the system to know what they are if such a case. I mean if tags are just symbolic for the system to recognize, and not something that sorts the game automatically, then they could just tag all ggb items as rares For example: Then you couldn't buy them edit below: I know what you mean. I am just saying is if a tag of rare makes the item un-buyable then you couldn't tag available items. If seasonal is just a matter of a off or on rare tag it would be a bit odd if nothing else. At the end of it thou I am grasping at straws really. We just don't know enough about how it works. If the tag is what does that then just adding "rare" to everything wouldn't work. There aqworlds have to be something beyond just Buy-able and Rare tags. What we see in game is just visual system matters is the coding. If there isn't there would need to either be a GGB tag made or a trade tag made. Thou trading tags to all items that need them it aqworlds asking a lot. Using existing ones that are already in place is easier. No I mean, tag on the system, but not on the actual game That's exactly what I'm concerned about. Ah, it's so nice to see trading listed as an option. It's definitely the one I am in favor of, rather than having it be randomized. If the buyable items from paitings are non-tradeable, therese nothing stopping you from borrowing your painting to someone for buying those items. If that's the case, I'm good. Personally, I'm against complex trading system with confirmations and such. AQ is too causeal-oriented of a game. Maybe lets go just now with gifting of rare items and delay whole barter thing till Archmage comes out? Well, the idea behind confirmations is to prevent anyone from abusing the trade system. It'd be nice if everyone got a long and we could all do without it but I don't trust any of you as far as I could throw you. If they only allowed for gifting people would still use it for trading. May as well put in the effort to prevent scamming. So, one puts up a trade for Heatwave, the other one on his side puts Accordion and the first player refreshes the page and sees accordion and presses "confirm. He sees that, confirsms, and there you go - a perfect trading abuse method. And this is only one example. I don't think that's how it will work. In fact, I can't remember a trading system that was ever that bad and I've seen some awful aqworlds. I'm picturing the trading system to be more akin to the one Steam has. Place trading in box, see that the other person has placed items in box. Accept that these are the items, and trade window gets locked. Confirmation button pops up and a few 1s and 0s go about their day. You get what you wanted, the other person gets what they wanted. Nice, quick, and secure. My big concern is duping. If the trading system isn't done just right you can have unintended consequences. Keeper of the Owls Member. Would it be possible to trade faces?
