In this article i will focus on DAX technical analysis 1H timeframe. For my trading i use 3 timeframes at the same time D1, H1, 5M but Hourly is usualy the most important one. For a direction bias i take into consideration 50MA simple moving average. I enter usualy in the morning when a session starts am server time. Setup 2 9am candle going down. The next candle rejected 50MA and is going up. If you closed too early, you could re-enter 5 when 5pm candle bounced off 50MA and price broken last highs. Here is another example: This makes divergence signal and i prefer to ignore 50MA here. Entry after forming 9am candle at its low level. Next setups are breakouts of last high or 9am candle. We enter after 9am candle. Whatever decision you will make on 4th and 5th of August you will have loss. We could enter earlier when price reacted to last high of a consolidation. This strategy is designed for DAX only. But the problem is obviously in your mind. Lack of consistency and choosing not reliable signals or even too complicated systems makes you lose your hard earned money. Daily timeframe is the key here, lower timeframes will produce more false signals. Our signal is one strong daily candle, which can be known as pinbar or marubozu candle. The properties of signal candle:. The idea is to spot a reliable movement of a one day where the price has retraced and movement was strongly rejected. Usualy it is followed the same direction the next day. Average daily movement is pips our TP target and minimum candlestick size is pips. Pinbar signals can be traded with pyramiding and other techniques as well. Remember that for a performance quality the only thing that matters is the equity graph and not percentage profit. As long as you learn forex trading you are told to pick the best setups only. If you take the best setups and leave the rest you will limit your losses and avoid overtrading. Not every market and not every strategy will fit this rule. Do i say that you need to forget the rule and enter every weak setup that could be spoted? The thing is more complicated. This is some chart of DAX. Now the question is which level you would choose as your moment of entry — level 1 which is more risky or level 2 which gives you more confidence? So if we enter more risky setup we will risk 40 points in average or less to gain additional or even points. Keep in mind that you need to have possible scenarios in your mind and stick to your decision. If the price is moving sideways after your entry but the higher timeframes tell you that setup is still valid then keep it going untill a strong action against you will happen. Where is a good entry? The most important is it must be logic and always with a trend. If you check my 5min charts of DAX with my entries you will see that i buy above 50 moving average and forexoma sell below it. There are at least 5 to 7 good, sharp and strong rides on DAX every month that could even double your account if you follow my rules. You only need to stick to your plan and cut losses fast.
